My pair of Aviary kept Pekin Robins provided a wonderful Christmas present 🎅 3 babies !
It has been a busy time getting up at 6.30am to ensure they have sufficient waxworms , crickets and insectivorous food and then revisiting their food dish every 3 to 4 hours! It is essential that the heads of the waxworms (at this stage of the chicks development) are removed as the chitinus material can choke the babies.. I then sprinkle calcium carbonate powder over the Waxworms.
Fingers now crossed for fledging time which should take just 10 days!!
