I have been keeping, breeding and showing new colour canaries for over 35 years. In that time I have had quite a bit of success on the show bench with the white black and white brown opal.
At present I am serving as secretary and show secretary of the Brentwood Cage Bird Society.
My love of birds goes back to my childhood when my father would take me out bird watching. From him I was able to develop my knowledge and love of birds.
Before I got interested in keeping and showing birds I always had a budgie or a canary at home. It was in 1980 that I first went to a bird show in Southend and saw this lovely red canary which I was able to purchase and so began my love for coloured canaries.
I now have my own website dedicated to the coloured canaries which I keep updated with articles and information and judging by the number of hits on it from bird keepers all over the world I like to think it is helpful.
Over the years I have made friends with bird keepers from Holland, Germany, France and Belgium and have been fortunate enough to visit a few bird shows in Europe.
I am hoping that the Bird Keepers Association will be of help to a wide circle of bird keepers.
